Today the City Technical Lyceum has opened its doors after major repairs in Mariupol. It was opened by the Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced People Vadim Chernysh, People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleg Lyashko and the Mayor Vadim Boichenko. Students met the renovated facade, modern classes, recreation areas, IT equipment, a new sports and assembly hall. The total investment of the project is more than UAH 36 million.
This is a joint project of the state, city and business. Vadim Chernysh and Oleg Lyashko achieved a state grant of UAH 29 million, Metinvest Group allocated UAH 5 million, the city - UAH 2 million.
The honored guests congratulated the lyceum students on the forthcoming academic year. They inspected the new educational space with creative design and equipped with modern equipment. They highly appreciated the repair and approach to the educational system.
‘We will do everything to make the government know about Mariupol. I believe that Mariupol is one of the most successful communities. It is an example. We must make every effort to keep this development going,’ Vadim Chernysh said.
Oleg Lyashko agrees with his words. He attended the Lyceum during the construction works and at the opening he saw a modern institution of education it has become.
‘An enormous work has been done for a year. We want to invest money into education. Let our children have future. The city is developing, rejuvenating and becoming modern. It is cool when Mariupol shows an example to the country, the way how to support children and education,’ the People's Deputy of Ukraine said.
In conclusion, the guests talked to the lyceum students and answered their questions. Children are delighted with a new technical Lyceum. They are sure that modern teaching conditions and powerful pedagogical staff will help them achieve high results in their studies.
