Last year Mariupol signed Memorandum on cooperation with Ukrainian fond of social investments. Within the framework of the document, some initiatives on modernization of social objects are realized in the city.
In particular, the repairs of the roofs in two kindergartens №160 in Left Bank district and №98 in Kalmiuskyi districts started last year. The works in the pre-school institution №98 are finished. The repairs of the roofs will afford to insulate the building and increase the energy efficiency. The volume of financing is over UAH 2 mln.
“Local repairs were held before but the roof got worn out and there was wicking during the rain. It was cold in winter period of time because of lack of insulation. Due to the repairs, there is a comfortable temperature during the cold weather. I appreciate Ukrainian fond of social investments for help,” Iryna Shanina, the head of the kindergarten tells.
Over 80% of works have been completed by now in the kindergarten №160 that is the largest kindergarten in the district. The repairs are held along the entire perimeter of the roof and it is more than 1700 m2. The works started in the end of September last year. According to the head of the kindergarten, Anna Varlamova, the educational process is not interrupted in spite of the fact of repair works.
“The last local repair works were done in 2008. It was made by using old technologies, the roof leaked for the last years. There were microorganisms there. We are glad that Ukrainian fond of social investments assisted the exchange of roofs and it will help to insulate the building”, she said.
