Today the official opening of Cardiovacular center has been held. It operates on the basis of the Emergency care hospital. Mayor Vadim Boichenko ,the First Deputy Chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Igor Moroz, Deputy Director of the Department of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories Lesya Didenko, Head of the Representative Office of the European Investment Bank in Ukraine Jean-Eric de Zagon, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine Dafina Gercheva watched the building after repair works.

The modern cardiocenter began to receive patients in September last year. Now the medical institution is fully prepared for the full reception of patients.

The total investment of the repair works and purchase of equipment amounted to about UAH 89.8 million. The city budget allocated UAH 57.8 million, the State Regional Development Fund – UAH 16.5 million, the European Investment Bank – UAH 13 million and the Metinvest Group – UAH 2.5 million.

‘Due to our partners we were able to implement an ambitious project in a short time with the joint efforts. Now Mariupol residents can have quality medicine. The key issue is that we got the opportunity to save lives in this building. In total, over 300 people were rescued who were brought to the institution with acute heart attacks,’

Vadim Boichenko noted.

Jean-Eric de Zagon stressed that the European Union and the EIB are always ready to support the implementation of important projects: ‘We want to help you. Therefore, we are implementing a support program. Hospital rehabilitation is a part of this program’.

Lesya Didenko noted the sign of the opening of the object in Mariupol: ‘Here is a really powerful team of specialists which makes every effort to bring as many cool projects as possible’. In turn, Igor Moroz said that Donetsk region is the leader in the number of projects under the European Investment Bank program.

‘Today we celebrate the day of the beginning of a new life. Because you, nurses and doctors, will create this new life for people. We will continue to support you and together we will find opportunities for solving complex problems,’ Dafina Gercheva summed up.

A tour around the cardiology center was conducted for the guests by the head physician Sergey Orleansky. There are bright walls, a modern waiting area, new operating rooms, soft equipment, monitors, air-conditioned rooms and doors with motion sensors. The main thing is modern equipment and a unique cardiograph. Such conditions are comfortable for both patients and doctors.

The doctor noted that more than 2.5 thousand people had already been treated in the cardiocenter. More than a thousand operations have been done.
