According to the Mayor, it is planned to allocate more than UAH 1 billion from the local budget for development. But due to the attracted state, regional financial resources and foreign investments, it will potentially amount to more than UAH 3 billion. Of these, UAH 633 million will be spent on education, UAH 463 on sports, culture and tourism, more than UAH 530 million on the development of housing and communal services and utilities, UAH 447 million on road transport infrastructure and UAH 292 on medicine and social protection.

In total, the draft budget of the city without transfers in 2021 is more than UAH 3.9 billion. The main items of income are personal taxes, land tax, excise tax and a single tax. Compared to last year, there was an increase of 6.5%. This is the result of higher wages. But, according to Vadym Boichenko, its increase also raises the expenditure side of the budget.

According to Deputy Mayor Serhii Orlov, the operating share of the budget with subventions will amount to more than 2.4 billion UAH. They will be used for education (UAH 1.2 million), services for people (over UAH 350 million), culture and sports (over UAH 200 million), health care (over UAH 100 million). Also in 2021 large-scale projects will be implemented. Their financing will become possible due to investments, state and regional participation and the help of partners. Among them, the reconstruction of the trolleybus depot, the reconstruction of Hurova park, the implementation of the "Cozy yard" program, the reconstruction of the embankment in the Left Bank district.

“The 2021 budget is balanced and provides all social guarantees and needs of Mariupol residents. This allows us to be confident that the city will continue to develop and transform. We see that the economy is diversifying, due to investments and co-financing, it is possible to continue the implementation of key projects. The key is not to slow down and change the city for the better, ” Vadym Boichenko stressed.
