Today, the updated tram has come out on route 10. This is the fourth car that Mariupol tram-trolleybus administration has updated on its own. The plans before the end of the year to overhaul two more.
Previously, funding for the tram and trolleybus management was low, there were no necessary tools. As a result, the equipment was practically not repaired.
‘The old KTM-5 trams were completely worn out and decommissioned from March. They were replaced by trams from the European Union. Nevertheless, we still have the K-1 trams, which can be thoroughly repaired. Now having trained personnel, financial resources and the necessary materials of MTTA independently performs this repair,’ Vasily Klat, director of the department of transport and communications said.
The tram that was launched is 2008 year release. For two and a half months, they changed the car beyond recognition. About 300 thousand UAH were spent on repairs.
‘We have completely sorted out carriages carts, mechanical equipment and electrical equipment. We have replaced low-voltage and high-voltage circuits. The car has been completely repainted,’ the director of MTTA, Vitaly Donev emphasized.
At the same time, the equipment is constantly maintained in good condition. Every day after work is finished, and in the morning, before putting it on the line, specialists monitor the technical condition and appearance of the vehicle.
‘Every day, depot employees check how clean the cabin is, how the electrical equipment, the braking system and the door operators work’, Vitaly Donev said.
The process of updating vehicles does not stop.
