The first meeting of the Green Council has been held in ‘Spalakh’ educational center. During the event, the council members spoke about their ideas, chose the head and secretary of the council and also approved the rules for further work.
‘Green Council is a platform where you can consider the most pressing issues in the field of sustainable green development. The main thing is a tool that is needed by the active part of society, aimed at real solutions to problems. All decisions of the Green Council will be considered by the executive committee,’ the head of the environmental and energy management department of the city council Vahagn Mnatsakanyan said.
23 people are the board members. Among them are environmentalists, school leaders, representatives of public organizations and entrepreneurs. During the meeting, they identified a range of problems: the issue of waste, water supply and water treatment, environmental education, waste sorting and the issue of alternative energy sources.
In the course of open voting, members of the Rada elected their head. It was Valentina Abalmasova and the secretary was Olga Bliznyuk.
It is worth noting that the decision to create the Green Council was made at the end of last year. Its main activity is the development of projects to create sustainable green development.
