The construction of the first steel house in Ukraine is continued in Primorsky district, on 11 Amurskaya Str. As early as next year, 120 Mariupol residents will receive new housing. Mayor Vadym Boichenko told about it.

‘It will be an eight-storey building, which has no analogues in Ukraine. Unique composite materials are used that give strength. The building will be resistant to landslides. It is also energy efficient and soundproof. There will be service flats there. They will be received by “new Mariupol residents”, teachers, doctors, military men,’ Vadym Boichenko stressed.

The project is funded by Mariupol City Council, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine and Metinvest Group. Steel for the building is produced at Mariupol iron and steel works.

‘Six years ago, the city was faced with the issue of high-quality transport, road repair, and utility problems. Today 25% of roads have been renovated. New transport has been purchased. There was still a question with housing. There are people we offer jobs to, but they want to be confident in the future. It proves that if we all combine our efforts, we succeed in everything,’ General Director of Azovstal Iron and Steel Works Enver Tskitishvili said.

The construction is planned to be completed in July 2022. It is worth noting that the project for the construction of a steel house was developed by the winners of the Steel Freedom - 2018 competition for young architects.
