Today French delegation chaired by the president of French company Beten Ingenierie Jean Roche has visited Mariupol. The municipality together with the representatives of the company discussed the first stage of the realization of the project on modernization of water-supply system.
The city mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko admits that the project gives an opportunity to Mariupol to solve one of the key issues that is to supply the residents with the public service of the European level.
“Step by step we are following the goal – to get pure water from a tap in Mariupol. We have passed through bureaucratic stages. I am sure that in four years Mariupol residents will be able to get a municipal service of the European quality”, Vadym Boichenko commented.
During the meeting, the first deputy of the city mayor appreciated the partners for help in solution of the problem of Mariupol residents that exists about one hundred years. “Today’s problem is one more step to realize the water supply project”, Mykhaylo Kohut admitted.
In turn, Jean Roche emphasized that delegation came before the start of realization of the first stage of the project. French specialists will spend one week in Mariupol. It is planned to carry out project and research works for this time.
“We must carry out the research of the source of water, gather the data about geology. Based on the data, we need to know the optimal places for water supply inlet and determine the place of location of the plant”, he said.
The president of French company Beten added that the work over master plans and drill of technical and economic ground for the upcoming water supply plant will be carried out.
To recap, at the beginning of 2019, the framework agreement on an official support of the project of water supply in Mariupol between the government of the French Republic and the government of Ukraine was concluded. The document provides EUR 64 mln for the support of the investment project by the government of France with the participation of Mariupol city council.
