Budget for 2021 is adopted in Mariupol

The key issue of the second session of the city council of the seventh convocation has been the approval of the draft budget for 2021. According to Mayor Vadym Boichenko, the main financial document is maximally balanced in key areas of development. It was developed based on the laws of Ukraine and taking into account Mariupol Development Strategy until 2021. Despite attempts to disrupt the vote and block the rostrum, the draft decision was adopted.

“We are making another confident step towards the continuation of the development of Mariupol. For five years, deputies have been openly discussing the budget. The new document passed eight commissions. Each of them considered their block in detail, ” the Mayor stressed.

According to the acting Director of the Finance Department Anastasia Smorodska, the budget was drawn up on the basis of macroindicators of economic and social development. The project takes into account the forecasted amount of city budget revenues in the amount of UAH 4 billion 678 million.

“The own budget revenues amount to UAH 3 billion 903 million. Transfers from the state and regional budgets are provided for a total of UAH 676 million. Compared to 2017, own budget revenues increased by 92% (UAH 1 billion 866 million). The largest share in the structure of budget revenues is the tax on personal income - 79% in total, ” Anastasia Smorodska said.

Taking into account the projected volume of income for 2021, expenses are intended in the amount of more than UAH 4 billion. From the general fund of the budget, more than 1 billion UAH will be allocated for education, for medicine - 119 million UAH, 33% of them will be allocated for combating COVID - 19.115 million UAH will be allocated for social protection, 96 million UAH - for culture, 99 million UAH - for sports, more than UAH 1 billion - for housing and communal services.

“We have adopted a record budget, which is aimed at further rapid development of Mariupol. We pay attention to all areas. The future of our city is important for us,” Mayor Vadym Boichenko summed up.
