Today the President of Ukraine has arrived on an official visit to Mariupol. Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the military unit and greeted all defenders of Ukraine on the Day of Unity. The event was attended by mayor Vadym Boichenko.
“I appreciate everyone who defends Ukraine, defends our homeland, who stands and will stand for it, who is faithful to the oath and is faithful to Ukraine. There is nothing that can scary us with you. We are ready to overcome any threats, political and military pressure together with you. We will not back down and we will not give in. We are united by your strength and your will,” the President noted.
Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that the war has been going on for eight years and during this time Ukraine has become as much stronger. According to him, Ukrainians have nothing to fear, since there are strong armed, diplomatic, volunteer and national resistance forces of the entire state. Volodymyr Zelensky added, only together we will build a peaceful and happy Ukraine.
After the greeting, the leader of the state presented awards to servicemen of the armed forces of Ukraine, other military formations and law enforcement agencies.
Mayor Vadym Boichenko stressed that the President's visit to Mariupol is especially important at the present time.
“Today, all of Ukraine should be united. And the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is a symbol of the unity of our state. After all, Mariupol is a symbol of resilience and strength in the east of our country. Due to the unity, our city is not afraid of anything and is successfully developing under the yellow-blue flag,” the mayor said.
