The education under “School of leaders of the territorial development” program has finished in Mariupol. The employee of structural subdivisions of the municipality defended their projects on development of infrastructure of the city. The results of the education were appreciated by city mayor Vadym Boichenko.
“Today it is important to form the coalition of opportunities for Strategy 2030. It is impossible to do it without leadership and inspiring projects. Every project is focused on a person. I am sure that we will build future by the sea with the ocean of opportunities,” the Mayor stressed.
“The school of leaders” is held for the third year. Five teams prepared the projects directed to improve the vital function of the city. The authors presented the results of focusing: starting from creation of social space and system of hazardous waste management up to the program of slag recycling in road building.
Every project was discussed; the deputy mayors asked clarifying questions. The best initiative was chosen after that – the project of arrangement and promotion of culture of parking lot.
“Today in Mariupol there is insufficient development of parking infrastructure. Our project involves the equipment of sites for parking spaces, including paid ones. It is also proposed to introduce an automated control system. This will allow monitoring and fixing violations,” said one of the authors of the project, the head of the city council's inspection for landscaping Yekaterina Zmitrovich.
It should be noted that the “School of Leaders in Territorial Development” is a program for training city managers. The project program includes four training modules. Participants received a base of knowledge about modern trends and approaches to urban development, creativity for the public sector, and the effectiveness of teamwork and communication.
