There is a new department for people affected by Chernobyl disaster in Mariupol

It works in the city hospital number 9. There was a major overhaul and all the necessary conditions for the treatment and rehabilitation of patients were created. More than UAH 300 000 were allocated from the city budget. The sponsorship from the Mariupol Sea Commercial Port amounted to UAH 200 000.

The work of the department was checked by Deputy Mayor Ksenia Sukhova, director of the Mariupol sea trading port Alexander Oleinik, director of the health department Svetlana Makarova. They talked with the patients.

It is worth noting that in the department the chamber is equipped with new furniture, there are manipulation and sanitary rooms. A modern laboratory and diagnostic base has been created. There is a dining room, a TV set and wi-fi for a comfortable stay of patients

The department has the ability to accept twenty patients simultaneously. The list of services of the department includes the delivery of the necessary tests, ECG, fibrobronchoscopy, X-rays and examination with narrow specialists.

‘Health care is an area in which there have always been many problems and challenges. But we are doing everything possible to create the best conditions for the patients. We will continue to develop and improve. We are ready to hear you and be sure to help,’ Ksenia Sukhova said.

Director of the Mariupol port, Alexander Oleinik, noted that the financing of such projects is a debt to the people affected by Chernobyl disaster.

In turn, the liquidators of the accident thanked the city council and sponsors for their attention and support.
