At Mariupol State University a large-scale international conference has been held on the theme:’Legal doctrine: international experience and practical implementation in Ukraine’. The event was attended by over 200 scientists from 23 universities in Ukraine, Greece, Italy, Cyprus and Kazakhstan. The deputy mayor Ksenia Sukhova congratulated the participants of the conference.
‘I am glad that Mariupol has become such a platform for international discussion of legal issues. Where guests from different cities and countries will be able to engage in dialogue and share their own experiences. I am sure that through such a dialogue you will receive new knowledge and skills and we will be able to use your achievements to develop a successful and European Mariupol,’ the deputy mayor said.
According to her, the rights and freedoms of every person are in the center of attention in Mariupol.
‘More than 100 thousand people came to our city from temporarily occupied territories. Then in Mariupol the programs to meet the needs of these people were organized. We opened the first hostel for IDPs in Ukraine. Subsequently, they built two houses and bought apartments. And we continue to implement such projects. We provide ‘new Mariupol residents’ with housing and work. This is the realization of human rights,’ Ksenia Sukhova noted.
The President of Mariupol State University Konstantin Balabanov noted that this year the specialty ‘Jurisprudence’ will have been 25 years old. During this time, the university has become one of the centers for the study of law in Ukraine.
‘We attract international experience. We agreed that our European partners will help us train lawyers. I am sure that today's conference will allow discussing topical issues of the development of legal science and the use of international experience for its implementation in Ukraine,’ the rector said.
During the conference, issues of international legal aspects of the development of legislation in the context of globalization, current trends in the development of public law branches, current trends in the development of private law branches, protection of rights and freedoms of citizens, and modernization of the judiciary of Ukraine in European integration were discussed.
