In the course of the meeting of the Executive Committee, ‘Construction of a multi-storey residential building in 5a Azovstalskaya Str. in Levoberezhniy district of Mariupol’ working draft has been confirmed. A nine-storey house with 72 apartments will be built. It costs over UAH 70 071,214.

There will be 8 apartments on each floor: 2 one-room, 5 two-room and 1 three-room flats. The total area of apartments in the house is 4096.62 m2.

The project is focused on the implementation of 'Affordable Housing’ state program. Apartments in the house will be distributed among those people who have the right of benefits from the state especially anti-terrorist operation participants and internally displaced people. At the same time, 50% of the cost of apartments will be paid by the state, and in some categories of citizens, according to the competitive ranking, the city will compensate another 20%. All the things that the state program will not cover, the city is going to finance, so that the construction of the house to be completed and the city will receive apartments for this amount, which will be distributed as official housing.

The City Mayor Vadim Boichenko during the discussion of the issue noted that the construction of the house will stabilize the value of real estate in the secondary market and reduce the rate of growth in prices for it. He also stressed that in Mariupol, a systematic work is being carried out to provide housing to those who need it.

‘The first step is the construction of a social hostel. Then the purchase of 63 apartments in the secondary market and the reconstruction of two houses with the creation of a full 40 apartments in them. And the third step: there is a state program and the adopted Law that new Mariupol citizens have the right to purchase housing with compensation from the state. We hope that the construction of this house will also be another initiative of the state and will be supported financially. Under the cooperation of the municipality and the state, we will be able to provide more housing for people in need. There is also a fourth step, which will be implemented with the support of the Government of Germany. This will be the construction of service housing with the right to purchase’,
the mayor stressed.
