The cost of meals in educational institutions is revised in Mariupol

Today, at the XXXVII session of Mariupol City Council, the deputies set limits on the cost of meals for pupils of general secondary education institutions, ‘Care Center’ children's home of the mixed type and pre-school education institutions. The new changes will take effect on January 1, 2019.

According to the draft decision, the cost of food in institutions of general secondary education is raised to UAH 23 and for pupils of ‘Care Center’ mixed-type children's home - up to UAH 60.

In institutions of preschool education, the cost of food is distributed the following way. In groups of general development, inclusive and special groups (for children over three years old)  with a stay time of 9, 10.5, 12 hours,  it is raised up to UAH 38 per day, with a stay time 24 hours - up UAH to 39.9 per day.

In nursery groups of general development, inclusive and special groups (for children up to three years) with the stay time of 9, 10.5, 12 hours, it is raised up to UAH 33 per child per day.

The project establishes a parental fee in the amount of 50% of the cost of meals per day for pupils of 1–4 grades of general secondary schools and pupils of pre-school education institutions. From January 1, 2019, free hot meals will be provided at the expense of the city budget for pupils of 1-11 grades from: orphans and children deprived of parental care; children from low-income families; students with special educational needs who are studying in special and inclusive classes from large families; children with disabilities; from the families of participants of the ATO / OUF.

Exempt from payment for meals in preschool education institutions:

- children from families in which the cumulative income for each family member for the previous quarter did not exceed the level of the subsistence minimum (guaranteed minimum);

- orphans, as well as those deprived of parental care who are under guardianship and brought up in families;

- children with disabilities;

- pupils of special pre-school educational institutions (groups) for children in need of correction of physical or mental development;

- children with special educational needs who are brought up in inclusive groups;

- children from families of participants of the ATO / OUF.

The project also provides a discount on payment for the nutrition of children in communal institutions of pre-school education to families with three or more children in the amount of 50 percent of the parental fee for feeding children.
