The National Police of Donetsk region has received 10 pickups, more than 1,100 first-aid kits, 700 fire extinguishers, a modern portable explosives scanner and three modules for checkpoints located in the direction of Melekino township. They were awarded within the framework of “RIGHTof Police” program, funded by the European Union. Deputy Mayor Arkady Meshkov appreciated international partners for their support in strengthening the security of the region.

“Security is the foundation of sustainable development for Mariupol. Due to a safe environment, we have the opportunity to develop our city. The level of trust in law enforcement agencies in Mariupol is one of the highest in the country. Together we are working on such programs as Safe City, Stop Drugs, which are already yielding positive results, "Arkady Meshkov said.

He stressed that Mariupol will continue to work to improve the safety of residents.

The help of international partners will help law enforcement officers in their work. “The police are among the first to arrive at the scene and respond to emergencies. To do this, they need modern equipment,” Fran O'Grady, Senior Program Manager of the Law and Police Program said.

In 2020, explosives technicians of the National Police of Ukraine responded to more than 560 calls. 41,000 units of explosive devices and 2,000 kg of explosive substances were destroyed.
