A major overhaul of kindergarten No. 106 "Gorobinka" is underway in the Central District of the city. It is being implemented as part of a non-returnable investment of the European Investment Bank (EIB), which allocated more than UAH 750 million to Mariupol for the repair of schools, kindergartens and medical facilities. Mayor Vadym Boichenko inspected the progress of the work.

“The key task is to create comfortable conditions for our children. We are actively renovating both kindergartens and schools. The garden will receive a complete renovation. Only the walls will remain from the building, but inside there will be modern equipment and new furniture”, the Mayor stressed.

The preschool institution is one of five, the overhaul of which is carried out at the expense of non-repayable investments of the EIB and due to the national project "Great Budget".

According to Vadym Boichenko, such trust was given to Mariupol for the achievement of three indicators: the development of a clear strategy for the city's development, effective budget management, openness and transparency.

The kindergarten has not known renovation since the building was built in 1973. The work began this summer. To date, dismantling work has been completely completed, windows have been replaced and waterproofing has been carried out. The offices will have a warm floor and the control frame will automatically regulate heat supply. In addition, the territory will be landscaped and a sports ground will be equipped. The total cost of the project is over UAH 45 million.

Due to the overhaul, the kindergarten will be able to accommodate more children. One more group will be added to the existing nine groups. And this is almost 200 children. They should come to the renovated building next September.
