The Startup Center 1991 has hosted the forum “The Future of Ukraine. Mariupol. The organizer was the public organization "National Platform for Reconciliation and Unity". Olexii Kazantsev, head of the youth and sports department, said that the interests of young people are in the center of attention of the municipality.
“In the Development Strategy of Mariupol-2030, youth is singled out in a separate block. We understand that this is a key element of development and change. Over the past six years, an effective Youth Council has been created in the city, schools are being repaired, and youth open spaces are being created. Back in 2013, we had only two universities. Today there are six. Another private university is under construction. All of this opens up new opportunities,” he stressed.
The head of the public organization "National Platform for Reconciliation and Unity" Serhii Sivokho noted that Mariupol was not chosen as the venue by chance. According to him, this is a youth city where students from different regions and temporarily occupied territories come to study. The city becomes a showcase for the restored Donbas.
“During the forum, young people will take part in finalizing the developed humanitarian Strategy for the reunification of Ukraine. When we developed it, we involved the scientific community, deputies and local councils. But we decided that the youth of Ukraine must express their opinion. After all, the world cannot be built without his participation,” Serhii Sivokho said.
The participants discussed issues and problems related to life, education, employment and the formation of young IDPs. In addition, they took part in the modeling game "Paradigm" to develop scenarios for the peaceful settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
