Cooperation issues with French companies are discussed in Mariupol

Within a few days, the representatives of the French companies ‘Beten’ and ‘Stereau’ will hold a series of meetings where they will discuss the implementation of joint projects with Mariupol. It includes the issues of  the preparation of a feasibility study to solve the problem of water supply of the city and the discussion of an agreement on the construction of a water treatment plant.

During the visit, ‘Beten’ President Jean Roche and Director of International Development ‘Stereau’ Arno Tjess met with the deputy mayors and the head of Gorvodokanal. The parties discussed the economic and technical details of the project.

Jean Roche drew attention to the fact that, in the matter of project implementation, good coordination of work between all parties is important. He stressed that the development of the project will also attract leading French experts who have a great practice in the international arena.

The delegation plans to visit pumping and filtering stations, Starokrymskiy reservoir, municipal enterprise ‘Gorvodokanal’ and other objects.

It is worth mentioning that on January 29, 2019, a Framework Agreement was signed in Kiev between the Government of the French Republic and the Government of Ukraine on official support for the project on drinking water supply of Mariupol. The agreement provides the allocation of EUR 64 million by the French Government to support an investment project with the participation of Mariupol City Council.
