In depot No. 4 there has been a discussion on the abolition of the planned increase in the fare for public and private transport. The meeting was attended by the deputy mayor Sergey Zakharov, the director of the department of transport and communications Vasiliy Klat and the head of the enterprise ‘MTTA’ Vitaly Donev, employees of the utility company and residents of the city.

According to Sergey Zakharov, the decision to cancel the tariff increase was made due to changes in the procurement schedule of the new transport. Such an instruction was given by the mayor Vadim Boichenko to the profile managers during his visit to depot No. 4 in April of the current year. Now the acquisition of 72 modern trolley buses and 64 buses is at the final stage.

Vasily Klat told about the planned renovation of the park of the Mariupol tram-trolleybus management.

‘20 buses have passed the run-in stage at the Minsk plant. Data is being processed from three suppliers of trolleybuses who have agreed to participate in the tender. Modern trolleybuses with low floor, information boards and air conditioning will be purchased. Additional sensors will be installed in the new transport, which will allow to consider fuel consumption and passenger traffic,’ he said.

In turn, Sergey Zakharov added that with the advent of the new technology, the movement of routes will be revised: ‘The plans are to extend the existing routes and revise a number of directions. The new transport will be launched along the most demanded routes and will decide on the transportation of residents,’ the deputy mayor emphasized.

In the framework of cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), 72 trolley buses and 64 buses will be purchased. In addition, it is planned to conduct a large-scale reconstruction of the depot.
