Mechanisms of interaction have been discussed to build processes for the modernization and safe nutrition of school canteens in Mariupol and the involvement of effective stakeholders in the process. Several variants of the menu for schoolchildren were presented as well.
The event was organized as part of the School Food Generation project –“Introduction of sanitary for food quality in accordance with the provisions of sanitary standards for food in accordance with the provisions of HACCP on food safety control and improvement of conditions in canteens of state educational institutions in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.” The organizers are Mariupol charity fund “Yellow and Blue wings” and All-Ukrainian social organization “Together” in the partnership with ChildFund Deutschland with financial support from German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
“The project is designed to modernize school canteens and to teach school cafeterias and children to use healthy eating habits. This is a competitive program, school №15 has won in Donetsk region and it will become the base one for others,” Iryna Sviatchenko, director of Mariupol Center for Professional Development said.
The head of the Yellow and Blue wings foundation, Lyudmila Churkina, noted that the schools that were selected as pilot schools will be completely modernized. These are technological, heating, refrigeration and other equipment for schools.
