According to the director of the primary health care center №2 Yevgen Matviyiv, the support of the city council helped to get the work of the primary health centers stabilized to fight against coronavirus infections. The doctors are supplied with the personal protective means, medicines and pulse oximeters are purchased.
“It increases our opportunities to overcome the pandemic for our patients who don’t need hospital care not to take the beds but continued their treatment at home effectively. For example, the purchased pulse oximeters are the devices that determine the level of the oxygen in the blood, are given to the patients for temporary and free usage. This allows to monitor the health and take the decisions. In case of necessity, the patients are hospitalized”, he said.
Yevgeniy Matviev said that there is a contact center on the basis of the center, the workers of it call the patients who are treated at home. They find out the condition of health and about the symptoms. In case of the worse state of health, the mobile brigade comes at home of the patient and takes the necessary decisions about hospitalizing.
“The formation of the mobile brigades was a temporary decision. It gave its results. A first, we separated ill people. The part of the patients is having outpatient treatment. Coronavirus infection can have an easy form as a minor respiratory infection. There is no necessity to have hospital care. The brigades are created for this. They will come and call on the phone to the patient. An individual treatment is prescribed to every ill person taking into consideration co-existing diseases”, the director of the city hospital №1 Larysa Mamaieva said.
The director of the city hospital №9 Olexandr Zhelezniak told that the creation of mobile brigades and outpatient treatment of the patients, who do not need hospitalization, has given an opportunity to manage bed capacity effectively.
“A number of complex solutions has led to the stabilization of the situation in Mariupol. Our city is fighting COVID-19 with dignity at the national level. Not many cities have so many oxygen points, the work of outpatient teams is organized. Strengthening the laboratory played a big role in unloading the bed capacity. It gives the result in a day. That has significantly affected the turnover of beds and the course of people's recovery”, the director of the city hospital №4 Vladimir Zhigil said.
In case of the first symptoms, doctors recommend do not self-medicate but immediately consult a family doctor. If the declaration is not concluded - call the city contact center 15-55, where they will consult and help. In case of sharp deterioration of the state of health - dial "103".
