There is a site for painting and restoring vehicles in depot No. 4 of the Mariupol Tram-Trolleybus Department. Here is the modernization of buses that run through the streets of the city for more than one year.
‘To continue to improve the quality of service, we are upgrading eight buses. They were presented by Metinvest Group in 2014. The main goal is to make them more comfortable for passengers,’ Vitaly Donev said.
The first bus is already in operation. An air conditioning system, LED route indicators, a speech system, video cameras, a media system and wi-fi are being installed.
In addition, new seats are being made. It is quick and cheaper.
According to the head of MTTD, all eight buses are planned to be launched on the city’s routes in July of this year.
The reconstruction of the depot will start this year. Today the process of obtaining approval of tender documents from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is almost completed. It is planned to announce international tender procedures in March.
International partners are investing in the reconstruction of the depot. The EBRD provides € 2.5 million and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) € 1.5 million.
