The issues of quality of services provided by private carriers have been discussed in Mariupol. The owners of the minibuses must provide a timetable for bringing the vehicles to their proper state. The city authorities and the public will control it.
‘We have three key requirements for private carriers: safety, comfort and compliance with schedules. Now the key is to bring the transport to a good condition. The other issue is to develop the culture of communication of conductors and drivers with passengers and to transport the vehicles to the line according to the schedule of the movement’, Deputy Mayor Sergey Zakharov said.
All these requirements will be specified in the new agreement. Now its development is under way. According to the director of the department of transport and communications Vasiliy Klat, private carriers will be penalized for non-compliance with the terms of the contract.
The head of the transport planning department Sergey Ostapenko noted that this month the Transport Department with "Ukrtransspekto" have checked 112 vehicles. 77 comments were revealed.
In turn, the patrol police compiled 15 administrative materials for violation of traffic rules.
‘You provide services to people. But we see the massive complaints of Mariupol residents for the technical condition of the minibuses. Besides, the first and final graphics are not executed. Put in order the transport and make a clear schedule that will be executed ‘, the chairman of the Deputy Transport Commission Yuriy Doroshenko said.
The member of the Executive Committee Dmitriy Zabavin proposed to make one of the criteria for concluding the contract with the number of vehicles that have already been repaired and that are just planned to be repaired. He also initiated the introduction of a uniform vest and a badge for conductors.
In turn, private carriers complained about shortages of personnel, debts and lack of funds for quality repairs. However, they promised to work on the solution of these issues. The city authorities invited the public to conduct taxi audits.
