Due to the developed algorithm of the struggle with the pandemic, Mariupol has met with the readiness to meet the second wave of the coronavirus. The city is provided with the personal protective equipment, medicine, necessary amount of beds and appliances. It is noticed in the statistics of the sickness stability of COVID-19. The amount of recovered is more than 60 %. It was said on the briefing on epidemiological situation with the city mayor.
“The stabilization of the situation with COVID-19 is confirmed by the series of steps: medical workers said about the problems, using their experience and the municipality took important decisions. Besides, a new PCR-laboratory is purchased, additional oxygen points are led and a provisional department is working”, the Mayor added.
Today 603 beds for ill people with COVID-19 are prepared in the hospitals of the city. Less than 60 % are busy. All medical establishments are provided with all necessary things to provide medical assistance to the patients.
“230 beds are ready in the provisional department. Less than 50% are busy. The department helps to select ill people with COVID-19 and continue their treatment and patients whose diagnosis is not confirmed have ambulatory medical care in the primary centers”, the director of the city hospital №9 Olexandr Zhelezniak said.
Every day over 600 of analysis with PCR method are provided, that is more than Ministry of Health demands. Due to the purchase of a new PCR-laboratory, the time of staying in the provisional department is reduced. The average time of expectation of the results of the analysis is one day.
“The laboratory covers the requirements of medical establishments to make a diagnosis. A quick result helps to make a diagnosis and leads to more effective treatment”, the director of the city hospital №4 Volodymyr Zhygil admitted.
A big role in the recovery of the patients is played by the equipment of hospital bases with oxygen points. The oxygen of high quality is supplied by the enterprise of Metinvest Group. If the situation is difficult, modern equipment of artificial lung ventilation helps.
In case of the symptoms of coronavirus infections, the doctors ask the citizens to call your family doctor, in case of breakdown – call “103”. You can get the information in contact center 15-55.
“Struggle with COVID-19 is mutual actions of the municipality, medical workers and Mariupol residents. Everything depends on the human factor. There are three simple rules: wearing the mask in public places, spacing and handwash”, Vadym Boichenko stressed.
In turn, the deputy mayor Arkadiy Meshkov told that the city supports the restriction of work of entertaining establishments up to 10 p.m. in terms of current quarantine in Ukraine.
“On October 11 The Cabinet of Ministers admitted the division of the country on “colour zones”. There are restrictions in the country which used to be in the ‘orange zone”, namely the prohibition of work of the entertaining establishments after 10 p.m. According to the data of the medical establishments of the city, there is no background to tighten the quarantine. These questions will be discussed at the meeting of the commission of technogenic safety and emergency”, Arkadiy Meshkov admitted.
Information about execution of quarantine events as on 13th of November:
Healthcare:
- 2649 patients with COVID-19 are treated in the city;
- all the patients are under medical supervision;
- Primary health care centers ensured medical supervision of 1,050 people who had contact with patients with suspected and patients with COVID-19;
- In total, 6986 cases of coronavirus disease were recorded in Mariupol, 4240 patients recovered, there are 97 deaths.
Transport:
• city public transport is operating normally;
• transportation is carried out only in personal protective equipment;
• a daily three-time sanitary washing and processing of vehicles is carried out. All drivers and conductors are equipped with protective equipment;
• information boards and martrans application are operating in an ordinary way.
Public utility:
- all public utilities of the enterprise are working under normal conditions, all the necessary services for the residents are provided;
- 4917 entrance halls are sanitized;
- special vehicles are used to sanitize the roads, 43 km of the pavement are sanitized;
- the analysis of drinking water was effected since 18 March. Sewage effuents are analysed every hour. There is no divergence.
- PU "Kommunalnik" today processed 1,570 containers using disinfectants;
- 87 units of equipment were processed at the Polygon.
Safety:
- pedestrian patrolling of the city streets is being continued;
- joint patrols of the police, representatives of the municipality and senior cadets of the Donetsk Law Institute work;
- 13 administrative protocols were drawn up;
Economics:
- Responsible subdivisions exercise control over business entities for compliance with quarantine measures;
- inspection teams are working;
- today there are 23 markets in the city.
