In 45 Mira Ave., the work is underway on the overhaul of a residential building. It was built in 1937 and is located in the historical part of Mariupol. The main task is to preserve the architectural elements of the facade. Belts, cornices and pilasters will be restored. Balconies will be restored, but in a more modern style.

Valeriy Shevchenko, the head of the department for repairing communal property objects, told about this: ‘Design and estimate documentation has already passed the state expertise. The cost of major repairs of this house is UAH 23 million. Repair work is fully funded from the city budget’.

The project is divided into two years. During this time, a major overhaul of the roof, facade, balconies, blind areas and entrances will be performed.

‘Today balconies are in a state of disrepair at this facility. Therefore, the work has been started with that issue,’ Valery Shevchenko said.

These works are carried out according to the Program of social and economic development of Mariupol for 2019. Two more houses along Mira Ave. are going to be repaired as well. This year it is planned to start repairing houses number 42 and 54/46. The last time their overhaul was carried out in the 80s.
