Today at the Theater Square there has been a musical flash mob dedicated to the Day of Europe. More than 300 participants of the 3rd All-Ukrainian festival-competition ‘Let's Play Together’ presented the residents with a musical gift. Together they performed ‘Ode to Joy’ by Ludwig van Beethoven and ‘Great God, united, God bless us’ by Nikolai Lysenko.
Students of music schools and colleges of Mariupol and other cities of Donetsk region, Kiev and Kharkov became participants of the flash mob. The indifferent Mariupol residents came to enjoy the music of young violinists, cellists and choristers.
Director of the Department of Cultural and Social Development Diana Trima congratulated the participants, noting the importance of this event for Mariupol.
‘This is a very important event for our city. I am glad that the competition is becoming traditional. It is wonderful that in the center of Mariupol, children from different cities of Ukraine play the anthem of the European Union. It unites us all,’ she said.
We will note that on May 18-19 in Mariupol there will be held the 3rd All-Ukrainian festival-competition of ensembles and orchestras of string instruments ‘Let's play together – 2019’. The organizers of the festival-competition are the European Association of String Instructors ‘ESTA-Ukraine’, the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodological Center of Culture and the Department of Cultural and Social Development of Mariupol City Council.
