The reconstruction of a two-story building in Levoberezhny district along 19 Mendeleyev Str. is being in progress. It will create decent housing for migrants and Mariupol residents who are badly in need. The total budget of the project is UAH 17 million. It is implemented with co-financing of the city and the state. The construction works started in September last year. The facility is planned to be put into operation before the end of summer.

The building will be equipped with 19 apartments. Two of them will be equipped with accessible facilities for the less mobile people - extended doorways, handrails and a separate ramp entrance from the street.

‘People who are in a social line are citizens of Mariupol and internally displaced people who need housing’, Nadezhda Astanina said, a director of Mariupol city center of social services for families, children and youth.

The house has already completed the dismantling of the ground part of the building, reinforcing the foundation, installation of external and internal walls, window blocks and roofing. The building is fully insulated and plastered. The sewer system is connected to the house. The works are completed on the routing of cable products, connection to water supply, installation of ventilation and internal water supply and sewerage.

The City Mayor Vadim Boichenko was familiarized with the progress of the work at the facility. The contractor assured that the house is warm, convenient and energy efficient.

‘There is a social turn of Mariupol and there are migrants who are now socially unprotected and expect us to pay attention. We have been allocated UAH 30 million. The objects are financed 50/50 from the budget of the city and the state’,
Vadim Boichenko said.
