Mariupol is actively getting ready to the possible third wave of the pandemic of Covid-19. Within the framework of preliminaries, the increase of the amount of in-patient beds in the hospitals of the city is continued. 208 beds are hooked up to the ventilation due to the establishment of three ramps. Today it was visited by the Mayor Vadym Boichenko and Director General of Metinvest group Yurii Ryzhenkov.
Today 688 beds are hooked up to a ventilator in the city hospital. Within the framework of the preparation to the third wave, it is planned to increase it up to 1000 beds.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, we took a decision to develop oxygen point. Metinvest Group provided financial backing to us in this issue. We developed 343 beds at the first stage, today we have created 345 beds more. Thus, almost 700 beds are supplied with the oxygen. The result of such a decision is shown by statistics. The level of recovered patients is 93%, the fullness of beds is 30%. Due to the oxygen, it became possible to decrease the time of the patient during hospital care”, Vadym Boichenko stressed.
208 oxygen points are created in city hospital №9. It became possible to reach due to establishment of three additional oxygen plants with liquid gas. The investments of Metinvest Group at this moment is UAH 8,6 mln.
“Rinat Akhmetov took the decision to consolidate the efforts of the whole business to help struggle with Covid-19 to all Ukraine in the first quarter of the current year. Mariupol was in the focus of attention. Metinvest Group was involved in the equipment of the beds at once, understanding the importance of this decision”, Yurii Ryzhenkov admitted.
New rapms are filled bidaily, equipped with the heating system that let get through the recent frost. The system is completely automatized and lets decrease oxygen consumption.
It should be noted, within the framework of the stage of the struggle with coronavirus, 343 oxygen points were established in four hospitals of the city, during the second stage 345 oxygen points were added. Metinvest group financed these works. The investments are UAH 70 mln.
