Today the Mayor Vadim Boichenko and People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleg Lyashko have given flat keys to the resettlers. They were received by six families of teachers, doctors and teachers. They will live in a house located in Krasnomayakskaya Street. It was reconstructed into social housing. The total investment in the project was about UAH 20 mln.

The reconstruction of the house was carried out due to the joint financing of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Mariupol City Council with the support of People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleg Lyashko.

Vadim Boichenko stressed that Mariupol is a city of Solidarity. As it was 240 years ago, its history of development is closely related to the resettlers. To help people who are in a difficult situation is the sense of Maria’s City. It has become a new home for many people.

‘Four years ago our life was divided into ‘Before’ and ‘After’. We know how it is hard to put your life into a backpack. The most valuable thing we have is a human life. We did not hesitate a single day and gave a helping hand to our townsmen. We have filled this social housing with equipment, furniture and appliances so that you come into these flats and feel yourself at home’,
the Mayor noted.

Oleg Lyashko congratulated the residents on the City Day and thanked everyone who was involved in the implementation of that project. He stressed that Mariupol is an example for the whole country of the way to take care of people.

‘It is not just a housing. It is assurance in tomorrow, new prospects and the possibility to realize yourself at a new place. This is a return to a peaceful and better life. Mariupol is an example for all the country how to care about the citizens and resettlers of all the country and to resolve some social problems. The main thing is not to stand apart of the problem. Millions of people from Donbass need to be supported ’, the People’s Deputy admitted.

The People’s Deputy of Ukraine Valeria Zaruzhko told about the difficulties that internally displaced persons face. She is from Donetsk and the problems of resettlers are close for her.

‘Being a resettler, I am pleased to understand that a key problem, that is a new home, has been solved for you. It is extremely difficult for people of even a working age to leave their past in the occupied territory, to move and start over. You have coped with it. I am glad that you have been helped’, Valeria Zaruzhko said.

In their turn, new Mariupol residents thanked the authorities for their support. Now they will have a place they can call their homes.
