A private technical university may appear outside the Peace and Freedom Square. The location was supported by the heads of all factions of the city council. Mayor Vadym Boichenko told about it today.
‘This location meets several requirements at once. First, there is a technical possibility of summing up all engineering networks. Secondly, there is a convenient transport interchange, which is important for young people. In addition, there are conditions for the creation of sports infrastructure, which can be used by other universities in the city. We will offer this location to a private investor, and we hope that it will be chosen as a place for the future university,’ Vadym Boichenko explained.
The Mayor stressed that at the next session, an appeal to the investor with a proposal for this site for development will be put to a vote.
‘All the leaders of the parliamentary factions supported this decision. It is gratifying that we managed to discard political motives, emotions and together come to an optimal solution aimed at the development of our hometown. The creation of the university is an important step towards opening new opportunities for young people and forming an educational hub in Mariupol,’ Vadym Boichenko said.
