This was told by the deputy mayor Ksenia Sukhova during the presentation of the draft budget for 2019. Mariupol will continue to implement a health care reform and build a cluster medicine. This area demands more than UAH 127 million.
The main task is the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the creation of a high-quality and affordable system of medical services as well as providing qualified personnel, improving medical infrastructure and the acquisition of modern equipment.
Solid steps have already been taken in this direction. For example, the creation of conditions of National Medical University moving to Mariupol have been created, ‘Benevolent Medicine’ project was implemented, hospitals are being repaired and equipment is being purchased.
The deputy mayor noted that this and the following year, the implementation of large and ambitious projects is being completed. The diagnostic children's center of regional significance and the first cardiological center in Mariupol are among them. The doors and new departments of hospitals, equipped in a modern way, will be opened.
The draft budget for 2019 is planned to direct about UAH 23 million for the development of the cardiac center. They will go to the creation of new departments: coronary heart disease and arrhythmias with the resuscitation unit, vascular surgery, prevention and early diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.
‘At first, we created the heart of our cardiology center, where they are already saving lives today. Further we continue to develop it. Everything that can prevent an already acute condition of patients is being developed. The entire surgical complex will be modern and modernized with new departments and trained specialists. This will give us the opportunity to operate not only the heart pathology, but also the vascular one, ‘Ksenia Sukhova said.
In particular, within the framework of the proposed draft budget for 2019, they plan to allocate funds for purchasing ambulance cars, reconstructing of three buildings of a regional children's hospital, overhauling the interior of a children's hospital of the pediatric department and equipping it with medical facilities
In addition, it is planned to purchase medical equipment in the emergency hospital and two city hospitals. With the help of ‘Azovstal’ Iron and Steel Works they plan to repair the children's infectious disease ward of the city hospital №4.
