Mariupol school №36 will be the first full-time educational institution in the city. Now children can stay at school until six o'clock in the evening. They will not only study according to the program, but also be engaged in sections and clubs.
‘According to the education reform, within 5 years all educational institutions should determine their status. The team and parents of school number 36 decided that the school would be a first-grade school. Only children of 1-4 grades will study there. In addition, the first full-time school in Ukraine will be organized here, ‘Tatiana Bratchikova, director of the education department said.
According to school director Ruslana Karnausenko, this is a completely new organization of the educational process. In the first half of the day, children will learn in class, and in the second half they will be able to study in various sections, clubs and development studios:
‘It is very convenient and comfortable when children of the same age will be in their environment. We will be able to organize daytime sleep for first graders, three meals a day, lessons and changes according to age. It is important that children do not need to separately look for sections and clubs. Everything will be organized at school. And parents will be able to pick up children after work’.
At the same time, classrooms will be reformatted into laboratory and creative workshops. Now, due to the victory in ‘City by our hands’ contest, there is a unique meteorological site on the school grounds.
‘We want to make the school a place where the child does not just receive knowledge, but develops creatively. A full-time school model provides such opportunities. The child will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice after class. Both group and individual programs will be developed for children,’ Lyudmila Balaban, director of the City Center for Extracurricular Work said.
We will note that this year in Mariupol 4 thousand 480 children will become first graders. All of them will study according to the standards of ‘New Ukrainian School’. For the equipment of the first classes more than UAH 30 million are allocated from the city budget and from the state - UAH 6, 5 million.
