A memorandum of cooperation between the municipality and a group of medical clinics from Turkey has been signed by Mayor Vadym Boichenko. The document envisages joining efforts to develop a project for the construction of a unique Medical Center in the city.
‘The medical center will raise the quality of life of Mariupol residents to a new level. It will become a magnet for attracting both doctors and patients. It will be a multidisciplinary institution, including not only a hospital, but also a research and training center. Mariupol will receive a powerful potential for the development and transformation of medical services,’ the Mayor emphasized.
The multidisciplinary clinic will attract the best medical personnel from all over Ukraine. It is planned to accommodate more than 2 thousand beds, about 1000 doctors will work. The hospital will cover not only Mariupol, but the entire region. Thus, a million people will be able to receive new high-quality services and treatment. One of the main aspects during construction will be the creation of conditions for accessibility for people with disabilities.
In addition, the buildings of the medical university and the student dormitory will be located separately. They will create all the conditions for training and scientific research in the field of medicine.
The general director of the group of clinics Ugur Genc expressed confidence that the Medical Center will set a new benchmark in the provision of medical services for the whole of Ukraine.
‘The whole project is built on a vision in the center of which is Human. Modern design and equipment will create a comfortable feeling for patients and doctors. The relationship between the hospital and the university base will help build a new model in the provision of medical services,’ the representative of the Turkish delegation said.
A potential location for the creation of Medical Center may be a site near Azovsky market. Vadym Boichenko, together with Deputy Mayor Serhiy Zakharov, showed this location to the Turkish delegation.
It is worth noting that on March 19, the Memorandum of Intent on the creation of a modern medical center was signed by the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Maxym Stepanov, Mayor of Mariupol, Vadym Boichenko and the scientific leader of the project, Doctor of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Borys Todurov. It marked the start of work aimed at strengthening the protection of the health of the country as a whole.
