37 Mariupol children, deprived of parental care, have received their own housing. Today the relevant certificates were presented by Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko and the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko.
One of those who received the long-awaited certificate was 21-year-old Vitaly Mykhailenko. The guy plans to connect his future with his hometown.
‘I do not plan to move somewhere, because I see how Mariupol is developing. I dreamt of this flat. I am very glad that now I will get my own accommodation,’ he said.
Vadym Boichenko stressed that the greatest value of the city is its inhabitants. They create new infrastructure and culture.
‘Mariupol residents are the soul of the city. Therefore, we are fighting to ensure that smart and creative youth stay in Mariupol. New opportunities are being created for this. A program to support youth, deprived of parental care, has been approved. Connect your future with Mariupol! Relax, create families and anchor in the city by the sea,’ Vadym Boichenko stressed.
Pavlo Kyrylenko noted that Mariupol is an active participant in the joint program to provide housing for orphans.
‘One third of all the housing, purchased under the program, is in Mariupol. UAH 80 million was sent from the region. I wish the new owners to be worthy people and worthy citizens of our country,’ the head of the Regional State Administration said.
It is worth noting that the total cost of 37 one-room flats is UAH 16 million. 50% of the cost was covered by the regional budget and the other half - by the city budget. 187 flats have been purchased in Mariupol on terms of co-financing since 2017, within the framework of the program.
