Participants of the Political Leadership Academy from different cities of Ukraine will get acquainted with Mariupol, projects and programs implemented here within three days.
The trip is organized for graduates of the “School of Young Politician” and “Political Leadership Academy” of the International Republican Institute from the Dnipro, Khmelnytsky, Nikolaev and Mariupol.
The participants were met by Stepan Mahsma, the Secretary of the City Council and Dmytro Vizenkov, the deputy. The Secretary of the Council wished all the success, productive work and implementation of ideas.
Later, the delegation of young diplomats moved to the administrative building of the City Council, where Stepan Mahsma spoke about the Mariupol Development Strategy, which is one of the best in Ukraine.
“It is a significant document, which was written by leading experts from Mariupol and the whole of Ukraine. Here we have identified and prescribed the main vector of development, which we want to see our city and how to position it for others”, - Stepan Mahsma said.
Mariupol is a developed, promising city with great opportunities. It is the largest metallurgical center. And it does not lag behind other areas: there is a high potential for medicine, education, sports, culture development. “We have formed the main directions and are confidently moving towards the development of a strong, intelligent and inspiring city. These three words are the best describing of our vision of the future”, - Stepan Mahsma emphasized.
In detail, the Secretary of the Council dwelt on innovative projects and programs that have already been successfully implemented in the city.
Special attention was paid to the mobile application of the Donetsk Region Police emergency call. With the help of free mobile service, you can call the police with the touch of a button. The youth was interested in how it was possible to implement such a system, who initiated it and how effective it was. “It was developed on the initiative of Vyacheslav Abroshkin, the First Deputy Head of the National Police. The necessary equipment, servers were purchased and now everything is at free access. When the button is pressed, the system will determine the location itself and send the data to the police. This signal is perceived as a call to 102, and police officers will act the same way as if you called the line”, - the Secretary of the Council explained.
He spoke about the unique project for Ukraine, namely “Social water”, due to the implementation of which all kindergartens and schools were provided with high-quality drinking water and residents could buy it at an affordable price. And also about the mobile application martrans.gov.ua, through which passengers can not only plan their trips in advance, but also choose certain stops and find out how they can be reached.
“Our aim is a city with a strong economy, high standard of living, well-developed infrastructure, transparent work of authorities, high social standards, high-quality education system and medical services. All this is documented in the Mariupol Development Strategy, and I think we will bring the city to a completely different level by all indicators by 2021”, - Stepan Mahsma summed up.
