Today Mariupol cyclists went to a three-day marathon "VeloDonetchina". About 30 athletes will cover 250 km and finish on May 15 in Kramatorsk.
The purpose of the bike ride is to attract young people to sports and unite active residents of Mariupol. In addition, participants will be able to get acquainted with the cities of the Donetsk region.
‘There are professionals and amateurs among the participants. They will go at a medium pace, accompanied by police and doctors. The route is designed so that all those who started it could complete it,’ the acting head of the Youth and Sports Department of Mariupol City Council Georgy Fedorenko said.
The route of the marathon will pass through Volnovakha, Ugledar, Kurakhovo, Pokrovsk, Mirnograd, Konstantinovka, Druzhkovka and Kramatorsk.
