A Smart Stop with solar panels will be installed in Kuprina Street, near the shopping and entertainment center. Residents will be able to wait for transport in a comfortable pavilion of the European level. This is one of the directions of the initiative ‘Mariupol - the City of the Future’, which is being implemented with the support of the USAID project ‘Democratic Governance in Eastern Ukraine’.

The modern glass pavilion will be equipped with waiting areas and USB sockets for charging smartphones. An information board will be installed nearby, where information about the time of arrival of the transport will be available. The pavilion will be completely non-volatile due to the installation of two solar panels.

‘I would like to wait for the transport with comfort, so the installation of a new stop is great news. Moreover, with an information board on which you can see when the bus will come,’ Inna Kovalska, a resident of the 23rd microdistrict says.

It should be noted that due to the adopted City Development Strategy, 72 modern bus stops with information boards have been installed in Mariupol. The plans are to continue modernizing the pavilions to wait for public transport.

The Smart Stops project was selected by residents of Mariupol through an open electronic vote - residents of Mariupol joined the discussions and chose the priority directions for the development of the city and its infrastructure.

This idea was made possible by the sincere support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
