In late February, Mariupol plans to launch 34 new buses in the streets of the city and get the first batch of new trolley buses. The launch of electric transport is planned in the spring. This will complement existing routes and create new ones. Thus, residents will be able to get a comfortable municipal service.

‘The share of private transport should be no more than 25-30%. This will help maintain a competitive environment and maintain the level of service for residents,’
Mayor Vadym Boichenko noted.

The Mayor emphasized that a whole model has been developed in the city regarding the modernization of the transport system. The new transport was purchased as part of a joint project of Mariupol City Council and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The reconstruction of the depot is planned too be done. On its basis, it is planned to equip a repair shop, a sink for equipment and create an additional 500 jobs. A transport model has also been developed.

‘New routes work in test mode. Adjustments can be made to make it more convenient for residents. I'm glad that we managed to implement this ambitious project,’
Vadym Boichenko noted.
