A glazed outrigger structure, an open observation deck and accessibility conditions for people with disabilities - Mariupol residents will see the building of the burnt down municipality after reconstruction like this. Representatives of the UN Development Program got acquainted with the progress of the work.
The reconstruction started in October last year. To date, about 15% of the work has already been completed. The cover was dismantled, new load-bearing structures were brought in.
Head of the PU ‘City Administration of Capital Construction’ Halyna Sheichenko stressed that the building of the City Council will be renovated according to the principle of ‘Transparent office’. The project provides for the creation of a glazed outrigger structure in the entire height of the building. They plan to place an observation deck on the roof, open to all residents. All conditions of accessibility for people with disabilities will be created in the building.
‘The impression of visiting the building of the future executive committee is very positive. The work is progressing well. This is an important project not only for Mariupol, but also for the whole Ukraine, both economically and politically,’ Ihor Kistenev-Kavkazsky, head of the technical support group for the Emergency Credit Program for the Recovery of Ukraine said.
