The Azov State Technical University celebrates 90 years since its foundation in October 2020. The date coincided with the quarantine restrictions and all celebrations were canceled. Today it has become possible. 60 teachers and students received commemorative medals. On behalf of the Mayor, certificates of acknowledgement were presented by his deputy Serhiy Zakharov.
‘I graduated from this university in 1997. It became the foundation for further development. For some time he taught at the Department of Welding. These were very interesting years. Today, together with the employees of the municipality, I work to develop Mariupol. In particular, we are improving the field of education so that it is comfortable to study, and teachers can give young people high-level knowledge. Now studying in our city is becoming prestigious for Mariupol residents and students from other cities,’ Serhiy Zakharov noted.
Over its long history, the university has been able to achieve great success. He now cooperates with over 30 countries. Among them are Japan, Canada, USA, China, India and Germany. According to surveys of employers, the university ranks 11th among 60 prestigious educational institutions in Ukraine. More than 35 areas in engineering, economics, logistics, humanitarian and IT spheres, biomedicine are being developed there.
‘I have been working at PSTU for 17 years. I returned here immediately after graduation. For me, this is the most favorite place of work. I am glad that I can not only teach, but myself constantly undergo various practices, participate in conferences and seminars. This inspires new achievements,’ Marina Kravchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Theory and Entrepreneurship said.
