Serhiy Orlov: Reducing bureaucracy and removing barriers for doing business to accelerate the development of cities and Ukraine

Mikheil Saakashvili, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Council of Reforms of Ukraine, have presented the Act on Freedom of Entrepreneurship. The goal is to provide small and medium-sized businesses with comfortable conditions for development. To understand the scale of the problem and to be closer to municipalities and entrepreneurs, Offices of Simple Solutions and Results are being opened in cities. One of them operates in Mariupol.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili, it is necessary to remove barriers to market entry in order for the economy to develop, there are many barriers in Ukraine. He is confident that the creation of free enterprise is behind a real economic revolution in Ukraine and long-term economic prosperity.

There is a ban on the creation of new regulatory bodies in the field of entrepreneurship, as well as the introduction of new permits, licensing and reporting among them. This is aimed at de-bureaucratizing the interaction between business and government.

‘This will enable the economy to develop faster. Today cities such as Mariupol are interested in creating business opportunities. This will have a beneficial effect on the economy of the city and the country as a whole. It is important for entrepreneurs to feel the support of the state and assistance in business development. Mariupol is following the path of creating a comfortable business environment in the city at the municipal level, as well as developing infrastructure through attracting investments. A Center for the Development and Support of Small and Medium Business has already been created and is successfully operating in the city, which is becoming an effective platform for communication with entrepreneurs. The settlement of all processes at the national level will become a marker of growth and will open up more opportunities,’ Deputy Mayor, Serhii Orlov said.
