A Memorandum of Cooperation between Mariupol City Council and Lviv Regulatory Hub has been signed today. According to Deputy Mayor Mykhailo Ivchenko, this is another step towards improving the city's regulatory policy.

“Mariupol has already done a lot for the transparent working conditions of the municipality. We are leaders in transparency and accountability among Ukrainian cities. The memorandum will make it possible to obtain the best practices for the development of regulatory policy,” Mykhailo Ivchenko emphasized.

The head of the board of Lviv Regulatory Hub, Taras Havunka, noted that this would allow Mariupol to confidently maintain leadership in the openness and transparency ratings.

“Components of regulatory policy have appeared in the ratings, so our cooperation is timely. Our project includes not only training, but also further advising the authorities, the deputies on the full quality procedure for the implementation of the regulatory policy,” he said.

The executive director of Lviv hub, Kateryna Shuvarska, said that the project is being implemented with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative. It included six cities. Chernivtsi, Lviv, Dnipro and Mariupol are among them.

“Cities were submitted to an open competition. Mariupol passed due to high performance. We develop methodological manuals, conduct seminars for deputies and businesses,” Kateryna Shuvarska said.
