Hurov Park continues to be reconstructed. After the opening of the barbecue area, 14 hectares are being renovated - from the "Ukrainian House" to the stage. Mayor Vadym Boichenko briefed the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko with the progress of the work.
This is the first stage of reconstruction. After its completion, residents of Mariupol will be able to see two fountains. The cascade will be the largest in the country. The pedestrian will have a 3D projection function, which will allow broadcasting video against the background of water.
Besides, residents will be able to walk along the European promenade area. It will start at the stairs and end at the updated scene. Modern landscape design will make this area unique for the city. More than 20 thousand flowers and shrubs will create a kind of natural aura.
‘We want to create a natural area here with modern landscape solutions. This will turn Hurov Park into a unique recreation area for Mariupol residents of different ages. We appreciate Pavlo Kyrylenko for supporting a project that is so important for our city,’ Vadym Boichenko said.
In turn, Deputy Mayor Olexander Kochurin spoke about the modernization of the "Ukrainian House", which will become the largest concert hall in the city. The stage will be renewed, modern music and lighting equipment will be purchased. In particular, the mixer, which will be installed in the Palace of Culture, will have only one analogue in Ukraine.
Particular attention is paid to accessibility conditions. For the convenience of people with disabilities, there will be a lift to the second floor. The first and second rows in the hall will be removed. In addition, the first nine rows will be disassembled and transformed into a dance floor.
Now, as part of "Without Barriers" initiative of the First Lady, Olena Zelenska, all infrastructure projects in Mariupol are created with elements of accessibility. A corresponding Memorandum on the development of barrier-free architecture was signed with Mariupol this spring.
‘There is a large territory here, which means a large amount of work. But I am unequivocally sure that all the stated rates of work will be met. Those ambitious plans that are currently in progress have been implemented,’ Pavlo Kyrylenko noted.
