The program of HOA support: Mariupol residential houses become more comfortable and cosier

Due to the city program of support for HOAs, the housing stock of Mariupol is rapidly changing. It becomes more comfortable and safer. The program provides an opportunity to actively participate in the implementation of projects for the improvement of their homes. The result of the teamwork of residents and the municipality is large-scale renovations of houses and ‘Cozy yards’. Mayor Vadym Boichenko signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the chairmen of six condominiums - on 83, 85, 87 Shevchenko Boulevard, in 1 Soboronaya Str., 38 Savchuka Str. and 80 Nikolaevskaya Str.

‘It is important for us to make Mariupol comfortable for residents. Sharing responsibility, together we change our hometown. Residents of HOAs decide what needs to be repaired first, we provide comprehensive support in the implementation of the project’,
Vadym Boichenko stressed.

Thus, residents of the houses of HOAs on 83, 85, 87 Shevchenko Boulevard, said that since the transition to the association, they have become more friendly neighbors. UAH 3.4 million were allocated from the city budget to support them.

‘We started the first project with excitement. Houses and a courtyard were changing. Repairs were carried out, roads were asphalted, benches, sheds and a playground were set. Receiving support from the city, step by step we become more confident and now we want to move on and develop. The general implementation of the idea helps to evaluate the effort expended and take care of the result obtained. Together we try to maintain order in the house and in the yard, plant flowers, hold open meetings and clean-ups,’ Olena Kurylenko, chairman of HOA “Shevchenko 87” said.

HOA "Soborna 12" was created in 2016. During this time, the society received more than UAH 720 thousand of support from the city budget. A mini-project for the repair of the roof has been implemented, the electrical networks have been overhauled, the landscaping of the local area has been carried out, "Cozy Yard" project has been implemented.

The first mini-project for residents of the condominium "Nikolaevska 80" was the replacement of window blocks. After that, they began to repair the roof, carried out landscaping of the local area and liquidation of dry trees. Overhaul of electrical networks was chosen as the first construct. For all the time, financial support of condominiums from the city budget amounted to UAH 1.5 million.

Today, more than 860 HOAs are registered in Mariupol, which is almost 50% of the city's housing stock. This year, more than UAH 250 million has been allocated to support them. The plans are to carry out 96 major repairs, implement 284 mini-projects and create 132 "Cozy yards".
