Draft budget 2021: next year it is planned to complete the arrangement of all primary classes

Renovation work in five schools and four kindergartens, continued reconstruction of the Neptune floating pool and the start of modernization of the Ukrainian House. Such plans are included in the draft budget for 2021 in the areas of education, culture and sports. Deputy Mayor Olexander Kochurin told about it.

“The education budget has been the leader in terms of investment for the third year. Next year we plan to allocate more than UAH 600 million for education. UAH 25 million of them was allocated for the continuation of the New Ukrainian School project. Within its framework, it is planned to complete the arrangement of all 160 primary classes. This includes the purchase of sets of desks, school furniture and didactic material. In this direction, Mariupol is the leader in investments per child, ” the deputy mayor said.

Next year it is planned to continue the overhaul of Gymnasium No. 27. The project is funded by the European Investment Bank with support from the regional budget. Also it is planned to complete the repair work in school 26 and their continuation in school №7,15, 46 and four kindergartens (№32, 106, 110, 114). Almost UAH 50 million was allocated for the “4 Activities” program. Its goal is to create comfortable conditions for teaching children. Schools will renovate toilets and replace windows.

It is proposed to allocate UAH 300 million for the development of sports. Among the key infrastructure projects there is the continuation of the reconstruction of the Neptun swimming pool, Children's and Youth Sports School No. 2, Prometey, the Boyko stadium and the pier of the water sports base. The construction of sports grounds at educational institutions will also continue. In particular, they will be created on the basis of secondary schools № 5, 15, 56.

Special attention in the draft budget is paid to the development of culture. It is planned to spend more than UAH 150 million on it. The plans include overhaul of the Ukrainian House. It will be funded by a non-returnable investment from the European Investment Bank. The institution will become a unique center of the city's creative life. Besides, the draft budget provides for the renovation of the City Palace of Culture.
