Petro Poroshenko congratulated the Marine Corps on professional day at the Mariupol airport. The Protector of the Constitution honoured the military with states awards and handed over the Battle Flag to the 503rd military personnel.Ivan Chornopishchuk, the commander of the Donetsk border detachment, was among the rewarded.
During the official speech to the military, the President of Ukraine emphasized that the Marines were the pride of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the whole state. He stressed that Mariupol was the first association when you talked about the Marine Corps.
Petro Poroshenko, solemnly honoured the Marines with State Awards on the Marine Corps Day, and handed over the Battle Flag to the 503rd military personnel in sign of high trust from the State, its superior command and the entire Ukrainian people. It should be noted that for the period of ATO, 372 marines were honoured with state awards for their courage and heroism, and 26 of them were honoured posthumously.
