During the meeting of the Council for Regional Development, President of Ukraine Piotr Poroshenko instructed the relevant ministries to work out a plan for restoration of the airport's operation in Mariupol. The Head of the state noted that the decision of logistics problems of the city is a priority for the Government.
‘There is another idea that I have encountered today and which I will firmly deal with. Today I entrust the Head of the General Staff, the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Infrastructure with the head of the regional state administration - to work out the issues of launching the airport of Mariupol’,
said Piotr Poroshenko.
In addition, according to the President, in 2019, special attention will be paid to repairing Mariupol-Zaporozhye line. Besides, the question of launching Intercity high-speed train in Mariupol will be worked out.
‘If we manage to negotiate with the European Union effectively, we will make the renewal and electrification of the railroad. After this, as it is completed, we will approach Mariupol Intercity. For me, this is a fundamental thing - it's a challenge’,
