The first investment forum RE: think.Invest in Ukraine has been started today in Mariupol. It was opened by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Before it started, he had driven a car in order to personally check the quality of the repair works performed on Zaporizhzhia - Mariupol highway.
At the border of Zaporizhska and Donetsk region, the President noted that the highway, laid in the early 60s, was last updated in the 90s of the last century. It is the key road between two large industrial centers.
According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk, Mariupol-Zaporizhzhia highway is an example of the way the work should be done: ‘This is a landmark object that shows that Ukraine can change. On the spot, more than 600 pieces of equipment and more than a thousand of people were involved. Four companies were contractors, among them - Turkish and Ukrainian ones. In winter, we will prepare to start a large-scale construction around the country on March 1. We will look for technologies that will allow this to be done, even with a long winter’.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining the route in a proper way. There is a port in Mariupol where trucks go and not everyone upholds weight standards. Therefore, part of the functions will be transferred to the Mayor's office so that the city and the state together control this process.
The President of Ukraine began the opening of the forum with gratitude to everyone who participated in the repairs of the route.
