Today, representatives of the European Investment Bank, UNDP, the Ministry of Regional Development and the Donetsk Regional Administration have assessed the projects created under the Emergency Credit Program for the restoration of Ukraine. Mayor Vadym Boichenko appreciated the partners for their assistance in the implementation of important social facilities.

“This is one of the key programs that allows Ukraine to move towards a European future. It allows creating a modern social infrastructure, which is aimed at improving the living standards of Mariupol residents, ” the Mayor emphasized.

The delegation led by the expert of the European Investment Bank in Ukraine Roy Draycott visited kindergartens No. 32 and 106, the Left Bank Center for the Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities and assessed the progress of the reconstruction of the executive committee building.

Roy Draycott stressed that the EIB, as an EU bank, actively supports the restoration of social infrastructure in Ukraine. He highly appreciated the renovated facilities. After inspecting kindergarten No. 106, the expert noted that he would like his daughter to visit such an institution.

“Improved and modern infrastructure is an important investment in the future of communities in eastern Ukraine. Reconstructed institutions in Mariupol give children and their parents more chances to study and be treated in a comfortable, supportive educational and clinical environment,” a specialist at the European Investment Bank said.

The children's rehabilitation center was highly appreciated. More than 200 children with disabilities are assisted here. Lesya Didenko, a representative of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, noted the importance of the partnership of local authorities with the European Investment Bank and UNDP in Ukraine within the framework of the Emergency Credit Program for the restoration of Ukraine. According to her, the success of the projects being implemented is evidenced by the fact that it was decided to conduct the second phase of the program with even greater financial investments.

In turn, the deputy head of the Donetsk regional administration Yulia Kostyunina stressed that only Mariupol was allocated funding for four preschool institutions. And in total in the region there are 29 kindergartens worth more than UAH 600 million.

Vadym Boichenko thanked the partners for their help to Mariupol. The Mayor stressed that such cooperation allows residents to get a new quality of life and access to services of the European level.

“Mariupol develops with thought and care for everyone. The main goal is for all residents of our city to have equal opportunities for development. Our international partners help in this. By joint efforts we are making our city one of the economic and cultural centers of Ukraine,” the Mayor said.
